Position SummaryDraftsperson preparing detailed construction documents displaying dimensions, component identification and other engineering information for construction & fabrication projects.
Conduct project coordination duties such as proposal estimates, material & submittal procurement, etc.
The arrays of drawings are to include structural, civil, mechanical, and fabrication layouts.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities, FunctionsDevelop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical components using computer aided drafting (CAD/BIM) software (Revit & Inventor).
Coordinate with and consult Project Managers to design, layout, or detail components with the purpose of field installation or fabrication projects.
Review and analyze project specifications, sketches, drawings, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures that are to be followed.
Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed mechanical components or machinery, using Autodesk Revit software.
Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
Design scale or fullsize templates of specialty items, such as pipe supports and fabricated components.
Confer with customer representatives to review schematics and answer questions pertaining to installation of systems.
Field measures and asbuilt drawings.
Calculate point loads utilizing software analysis.
EstimatingCollaborate with Fabrication Manager on customer accounts, finding and tracking project leads with new and existing customers.
Hard bid (Plan & Spec) estimating process mechanical fabrication.
Accurately interpretproject plans, specifications, & other contract documents.
Prepare customer proposals and drawings.
Conduct value engineering ideas and cost savings.
Project CoordinationComplete necessary progress payments, material & subcontract procurement, invoicing approval, submittal review & approval of vendor documentation, RFI's, change orders, and other various documentation.
Establish project budget.
Stress analysis review of components and anchoring applications.
DesignLayout conceptual project design parameters with use of minimal information such as site plan and process flow diagram.
Assist with review of engineered systems such as process pumping & treatment equipment, process flow hydraulics, statics, expansion/contraction, pipe pressure testing, supporting systems, system stress points, & manufactures technical shop drawing review, as necessary.
Troubleshoot, resolve, and provide design options to owners & consulting engineers.
Layout and calculate mechanical construction pipe & equipment installations.
Preferred Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's Degree associated with mechanical or process systems.
Experience in construction and/or fabrication of process piping or mechanical systems.
Experience working in Autodesk/Revit/Inventor software.
Construction field experience or the desire to acquire as necessary to meet performance expectations.
Experience or ability to acquire training with the following software systems or equivalents:
All Microsoft products, Bluebeam, Trimble Accubid Estimating, InEight Hard Dollar Estimating, Inventor, AutoCAD Revit 3D, Hilti Profis Anchor Engineering.
OSHA safety training completion or ability to acquire.
Desired SkillsWorking knowledge of drafting techniques, tools, and procedures involved in the production of construction documents.

Comfortable working with algebra, trigonometry, statistics, and their applications.
Knowledge of the methods, tools, and materials used in the construction of civil structures.
