Job Description:
The Solutions Architect is responsible for defining and maintaining the structure of the solution and ensuring that it will meet the requirements. This individual will analyze and translate information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions and achieves business objectives. The Solutions Architect will partner with all members of the product development team, Enterprise Architecture, and Infrastructure teams to produce an optimal conceptual design for the project.

Responsibilities:
Acts as a key resource in object-oriented analysis and design.
Provides technical expertise across multiple disciplines on projects of high complexity while contributing to business intelligence design and reporting architecture (analytics).
Establishes design principles, patterns, and concepts.
Understands and aligns application and data infrastructure to deliver solutions.
Works with team members in an agile fashion to jointly own the solution and to interface well with other areas of the organization.
Collaborates with Business and Systems analysts to review requirements of the Functional Specification documentation, technical design, and proof of concept.
Leads and directs the transition from definition to design. This can produce architectural assets such as systems description, design overview and roadmap.
Conducts feasibility studies verifying that system design and architecture align with strategic decision.
Creates prototype and proof of concept solutions to spearhead new technology concepts and/or effectively communicate a technical/architectural direction to the engineering groups.
Proposes changes in process, policy, and standards as it relates to architecture and design principles.
Drives new technology into the organization by example and provides mentorship to team members as needed.
Interacts with Quality Assurance Analysts to understand testing results and reports.
Acts as a key contributor for coordination and planning of production releases ensuring successful deployment.
May be involved in identifying, assessing, and selecting custom application requirements and providing guidance on Commercial Off the Shelf applications.

Experience:
Bachelor's Degreeorsignificant equivalent in work-related experience with Software and Enterprise Architecture is required.
Any Microsoft .NET Certification is beneficial.

years of experience in programming and systems analysis is highly preferred.
8
years of experience of full lifecycle software development is preferred.
Experience in following an industry strength architecting process (e.g. Bredemeyer VAP) is preferred.
Knowledge of existing and industry recognized enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman) is preferred.
Skills/ Abilities:
Demonstrates the ability to organize multiple projects with particular attention to detail.
Possesses excellent communication skills and has the ability to produce well-written technical documentation.
Possesses strong presentation and public speaking skills.
Demonstrates the ability to act as a mentor to team members.
Maintains a steady flow of newly acquired information related to technology trends and concepts (a.k.a. well-read) and shares knowledge with others.
Believes in the concept of failing fast equals learn fast, and looks upon failure as an opportunity.
Teamwork and cross coverage of duties are required within the Information Systems Department and other business units.
Special on-call situations may occur.
Non-traditional hours may be occasionally required.
